Ingredients Tap to tick off

  • 1 block firm tofu, crumbled
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp black salt
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast

Method

  1. Drain and press the tofu lightly, then crumble it into a bowl using your hands or a fork.
  2. Heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat. Sauté the diced onion until translucent.
  3. Add the crumbled tofu, turmeric, and black salt (kala namak gives it an 'eggy' flavor). Stir well to coat the tofu evenly.
  4. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the tofu is heated through and slightly browned.
  5. Stir in the spinach and nutritional yeast, cooking for 1-2 more minutes until the spinach wilts.
Chef's tipNutritional yeast adds a cheesy flavor and is packed with B-vitamins, especially B12.
