Ingredients Tap to tick off

  • 2 cans (5 oz) tuna, drained
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 celery stalk, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp red onion, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 8 leaves butter lettuce

Method

  1. Flake the tuna into a bowl with a fork.
  2. Stir in the mayonnaise, celery, onion, lemon juice, mustard and pepper.
  3. Spoon into the lettuce leaves and serve right away, or keep the filling chilled for up to 2 days.
Chef's tipDrain the tuna very well and press out the liquid with a fork; watery tuna makes the dressing thin and the lettuce soggy.

Storing leftovers

Keeps: Best eaten fresh; keep components separate for up to 2 days.
