How to measure powdered sugar
Powdered (icing) sugar is light and airy. Spoon it into the cup without packing, and sift it before measuring if the recipe says "sifted".
All amounts use the US cup (236.6 mL). A Canadian, Australian or metric cup is 250 mL, about 6% larger; for baking, the gram weights are the safest choice wherever you live.

One US cup of powdered sugar weighs about 120 grams when measured the standard way.
How many cups is 100 grams of powdered sugar?

Why do different charts give different weights?
Cup weights depend on how an ingredient is measured and on the brand. These figures use common baking-reference averages; weighing on a scale removes the guesswork.
